Yesterday morning found me wandering
through my part of the woods - when suddenly I spotted a roebuck approximately
40m ahead - in the instance I was pretty sure he was old, so exactly my cup of
tea. Those wily old birds aren't old from being stupid - so no time to waste,
since he already got my presence noted and was peeking through some scrub,
judging me what I was up to.
I passed the binocular
ritual and just estimated him through the scope of my already cocked
rifle - he was standing frontal - no way to wait for a broadside,
but - hey just what the doctor ordered - reticle on the spot where
neck joins the body and - bang/flop. He didn't hear it coming - very
merciful end for an old fella. With 20kg dressed those buck are a
bit pretentious when using 9.3 cal, especially on frontal shots - if
you have some meat to preserve. But no worries - see for
yourself...did I say I am impressed?
