WHICH BULLET DO WE RECOMMEND?
QUESTION:
What is the difference between the HV, FN and HP bullets and how do you
recommend they be applied?
ANSWER:
HP bullets are very high quality standard monometal bullets. They are best
at moderate to high speeds at ranges from close to medium. As is the case with
all standard bullets available, they have been rendered obsolete by the HV
range.
HV and FN bullets employ a shaft design that allows radical increases in speed or, if used at standard speeds, a reduction of pressure levels. HV bullets perform, at worst, like the best of premium bullets available and, at best, at levels that exceed that of any other bullet currently available.
FN bullets are the
most advanced solids available for use on dangerous game.
QUESTION:
Why do you make such calibre specific recommendations with HV and FN
bullets?
ANSWER:
Monometallic copper
bullets are lighter than bullets containing lead. The first step in
choosing a bullet is therefore to drop down from the "traditional"
weight for a calibre.
For every combination of bore diameter and rate of twist, there exists an
ideal bullet length for the various applications. We make calibre specific
bullet recommendations because we design every bullet with the caliber and the
intended use in mind.
We base our recommendation on the minimum / maximum speeds a calibre is likely to achieve, given it's case capacity. Further considerations are free bore and the application of the bullet on game. Rest assured that we will always recommend the best bullet for your application, based on field testing on the toughest game and the most advanced technology on earth.
